Dance is a key factor in the competitive MT College Audition process. But what if you’re not a lifelong dancer? By the time students reach high school, it’s incredibly challenging to find intensive dance training that targets MT styles, provides a supportive environment for newer dancers, and doesn’t require an extensive commitment to company recitals or competitions.
So we built a program just for you!
MCA’s Summer MT Dance Intensive is specifically designed to help beginner and intermediate dancers build the skills and confidence needed to tackle the competitive MT college audition process. Taught by incredible dance faculty from top MT programs, this week-long intensive is an opportunity to dig deep and grow alongside your awesome peers. If you’re looking for a program that will support you, challenge you, and inspire you to be your best artist self, you’ve come to the right place!

Summer MT Dance Intensive includes:
Daily Technique Classes in Ballet + Jazz Styles
Strengthen your essential technique and expand your knowledge of dance terminology — all with a special focus on the most important skills to showcase in your college Prescreens.
Daily Skill-building in MT Styles + Pick-Up Skills
Quick Pick-Up skills are at the heart of Dance Auditions! Hone your Pick-Up skills, get comfy tackling MT choreography, and boost audition confidence with daily routines and mini-mock auditions.
Warm Up, Conditioning, + Cool Down Routines
Designed to promote healthy habits, build strength, + have you feeling like your best self, these routines can be used all audition season long to protect against injury and overuse.
Special Topic Classes
Rotating classes to take your prep to the next level! Learn the inside scoop on what makes a great dance Prescreen (from the folx who review them!), get comfortable navigating the improvisation component of college dance auditions, and practice channeling audition nerves into characterization and storytelling.

Early Bird Tuition: $1,200

Standard Tuition: $1,500
Optional Headshot Clinic with Nile Scott Studios: $350

8:30am to 4:00pm (Mon-Fri) & 12pm-6:00pm (Sat)
Sunday, August 17th: Optional 30-minute Headshot Clinic | 10am-3pm
Intensive Deadlines:
Early Bird Registration Deadline: December 31st, 2024
Final Registration Deadline: May 31st, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern
Full or 1st Half Tuition due: Upon Registration
2nd Half of Tuition (if applicable) due: June 30th, 2025
Cancellation Policy: If a registered student should need to cancel at any point before the start date of the Intensive, they will be refunded half tuition.

+ Where will the Summer MT Dance Intensive be located?

+ Where do you recommend out of town participants stay for the week?
The most affordable (and most used option!) is renting an AirBnB for the week. The dance studio is located in Cambridge (alongside the lovely Charles River) and we recommend looking for something near there. Otherwise, the following hotels are within walking distance:

+ Will there be transportation provided to and from the venue?
No, we will not be providing transportation. Participants should plan to have their own transportation to and from. Lyft/Uber is an easy option and plentiful in the area. Students are also welcome to carpool with each other. Street parking is available in the surrounding area. Garage parking is available for a fee at Green Street Garage (260 Green St, Cambridge, MA 02139).
+ Will you have a refrigerator and microwave on hand for lunch breaks?
Yes, we sure will! :) The area is also home to numerous eateries and within walking distance of multiple groceries.
