Originally from Ashburnham, MA, Sam is currently the standby for Jay Gatsby in Gatsby at the American Repertory Theater. He made his Broadway debut in the ensemble of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel, was an understudy in both the Broadway and touring productions of Into the Woods, and toured nationally with the Lincoln Center Theater productions of My Fair Lady (Freddy Eynsford-Hill) and The King and I (u/s King, Kralahome, Lun Tha, Orton/Ramsey).
Regionally, he’s worked extensively in Boston—at the Lyric Stage Company (Into the Woods, Sweeney Todd, Sondheim on Sondheim), SpeakEasy Stage Company (Big Fish, Small Mouth Sounds), and Greater Boston Stage Company (She Loves Me)—and has performed at the Lyric Opera of Chicago (The King and I, West Side Story), Kansas City Starlight (Miss Saigon), and Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars (Oklahoma!)
As an acting coach, he’s taught master classes to students all over the country, including those from Northeastern University, Ohio University, and Northern Kentucky University. Sam obtained his BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College and, when not on the road, he resides in New York City.
