Monologue Preparation
You will be prepped on your contemporary, classical and any additional monologues (as needed). Your coach will make you 60 Second, 90 Second and full cuts to meet all prescreen and live audition requirements.
Before the start of your FIRST Monologue Preparation lesson:
Your Monologue Selection lesson should be complete
You do not need to be memorized for the first lesson, but do be familiar with the pieces
Bring all selected pieces to your first lesson. We recommend that you have all monologues PRINTED OUT, but most important is your ability to take detailed notes in the format you are most comfortable with
Order the plays from which your monologues are from. These do not need to be read before the first lesson, but should be read as soon as you can
Have your “Master Spreadsheet” in your Google Drive Folder filled out with all necessary audition requirements
Number Of Lessons:
Please refer to the recommended number of lessons laid out in your Assigned Coaches/Suggested Number of Lessons sheet in your Google Drive Folder.
If the suggested number of lessons will not be doable due to limited time, resources or other logistical factors - don’t sweat it! We’ll discuss this in our first lesson together and make a game plan together. It’s super important to try to share honestly and accurately the frequency of lessons you will be able to pursue so coaches can make sure to plan properly for making cuts for your monologues and keeping you on track.
Typically, 1-2 weeks between each lesson is appropriate when scheduling to allow for time to process, rehearse and come to the next lesson with new discoveries and questions! Of course, we’ll discuss your specific needs in our first lesson.
