Originally from southern New Jersey, Joseph Marrella received his BA in Theatre Education with an Emphasis in Acting from Emerson College. He has served as an actor, director, and arts educator for numerous theaters and educational institutions. For four years he also served as the Theatre Arts educator in Westborough, MA., where his productions were acknowledged with several awards and nominations from multiple organizations.
As a proud member of Actors Equity Association, Joseph was a long time cast member of “Shear Madness” (the longest running play in American theater history). He has also performed at numerous theaters including The Huntington Theatre Company, The Lyric Stage Co., The Kitchen Theatre Company, Peterborough Players, NewRep On Tour, New Exhibition Room, and Summer Festival Theater.
In addition to his stage work, Joseph appeared in the Academy Award Winning film “American Fiction” and in the newest screen adaptation of Stephen King’s “Salem’s Lot”. He has also been seen in numerous commercials and corporate videos for companies such as Chobani, W.B. Mason, Staples, Arbella Insurance, Renewal by Andersen, and BJ’s Wholesale Club.
