Holiday Gift Ideas for Performers (2021)

Hoping to find some gift ideas for the performer in your life? Preferably ones where there is no shipping involved? We’ve got you covered! Skip worrying about if your presents will make it in time and give some practical presents that every performer wants and needs

  1. Gift them a professional kickstart and sign them up for our Business of Acting 3 Day Intensive over winter break (12/19-12/21, 2021)! We’ll help them navigate building their own website and creating an online presence, tips to finding and booking television/commercial/film work, getting an agent, how to navigate the ins and outs of Broadway auditions, forming connections in the industry, how to supplement their work with outside (empowering) employment and so much more! Taught by an all star lineup of MCA Coaches - we’ve brought back this extremely popular course at the request of students!

  2. Get them some new shots! Updating headshots is the present that will keep on giving! We have a Winter Break Headshot Clinic on Wednesday, December 29th in Boston with the fabulous Nile Scott Studios. An incredible, seriously discounted rate exclusively for MCA Students & Alum. Perfect for those college students home on break in need of professional headshots! If you can’t make the discounted clinic day, Nile also offers gift cards on his site to use towards a future shoot.

  3. A subscription to New Play Exchange. New Play Exchange is the world’s largest digital library of scripts by living writers. It’s an incredible database of new plays and up and coming playwrights. And best of all: a subscription to be a reader is just $10 A YEAR! Help the performer (or budding playwright in your life) support new voices and new work.

  4. Give the gift of knowledge! Gift them self-guided courses that they can do on their own time to work on and improve some of their special skills. MCA has great ones in Music Theory (led by Erica Spyres) and Dance Fundamentals (led by Kristen Katsimpas) that can all be done at home. These are crucial areas to set them up for success in college and beyond.

  5. Update their audition day essentials! Now that live auditions are back, it’s time to update their gear! Some audition day essentials include: Personal Steam Inhalers, Garment Steamers, Dance Shoes (to win present of the year - LaDucas!), Large Audition Day Bags and professionally printed headshots.

Happy Holidays from everyone at My College Audition!
